Configuring Automation1 for Your PC

At this time, you can start to configure Automation1. Then you can migrate your A3200 configuration to Automation1.

To Configure the Automation1 Software

Open Automation1 Studio.
Enter your product keys for the Automation1-MDK and the Automation1-iSMC software. For more information, see the Activate the Software page.
At the top of the window, click the Go To Machine Setup button. For information about Machine Setup, see the Machine Setup page.
Click Start.
On the Controller & System Check screen, click Use HyperWire Communication. The controller executes this process momentarily. Then it either starts successfully or returns an error about drive firmware that is not compatible with your HyperWire controllers. Click Next to continue.
If your controller returned an error about drive firmware that is not compatible, do the steps that follow. If an error did not occur, continue to Step 7.

To close Machine Setup and update the software, click the Update Software button. The Software Updating dialog comes into view.
To close Machine Setup and stop configuring the software, click Cancel.

Do the software updating process to update the controller's software and the firmware on all of your connected electrical devices. For instructions about how to update the software and firmware, see the Software Updating page.
To go back to Machine Setup, go to the Configure workspace. Then find the side menu that is located on the left of the application.
Scroll to the bottom of that menu. Select Machine Setup. Then click the Start button.
In the Launch Machine Setup? dialog that comes into view, click Yes. You can continue to configure Machine Setup.

Give your controller an applicable name, such as your order number. Then click Next.
On the Electrical Devices screen, make sure that all of your connected HyperWire drives are listed.
Click the Save Progress and Close button to close Machine Setup. Then close Automation1 Studio.
